BIM has made significant advances in Australia over the last few years. Its adoption and value within the WA construction industry has increased and is developing from large scale projects right through to being adopted for medium and small scale projects.
BIM is aiding in and speeding up the project delivery process, with more accurate, well planned and coordinated design models. The incorporation of data used for tendering and quantity purposes also minimises risk and variations on site, during construction sequencing and even further to Facilities Management and building life cycle.
As a standard SPH produce all their projects in Autodesk Revit and can deliver BIM projects. We understand the opportunity of collaborative systems for better project delivery particularly the minimisation of onsite variations during construction.
Our team is experienced in delivering aged care facilities produced and documented in Revit as well as acting as the lead BIM manager for projects, implementing BIM protocols, standards and setting up BIM management plans for the entire design team to enable full coordination.
SPH recommends that the Level of Development required for this project is LOD300. This approach would require engaging consultants that will provide the same Level of Development (LOD).
SPH can take the role of lead BIM Manager, implement protocols to suit the project and advise the design team. To fulfil the role of BIM Manager for the entire design team and coordinate models from all disciplines, and additional fee on top of the architectural fee provided in Section 6.4 will be required.
SPH have e experience in the development of comprehensive and coordinated models on a wide range of projects. Our 3D visualisation platforms include Navisworks for clash detection and walkthrough, Revit for walkthrough, coordination and for user presentations.
We have over 7 years’ experience in the generation and management of intelligent 3D models. Our team has advanced knowledge in the administration of databases and the reporting capacity that BIM enables.
