Advances with Building Information Modelling (BIM) over the past few years have truly streamlined the project delivery process, by providing our architects with valuable insight and tools to accurately plan and design new projects.
BIM was developed as a technology to bring architects, engineers, surveyors and contractors together, to make it easier for all professionals involved in a project to understand the physical and functional characteristics of a building. The information collected and analysed about the building can be used from the design and planning phase, right through the construction to the building management stage.
BIM is used for tendering and quantity purposes, but perhaps one of its true strengths is its ability to minimise risk and variations on site, during construction sequencing and even extending to the day-to-day operations and management of the building post-completion.
Advancing With Technology
Since its adoption into the WA construction industry, BIM has made an impact on many projects, from primarily large scale, to medium and small-scale projects.
SPH Architecture + Interiors is a fully BIM capable office, as we know that BIM allows us to better plan, analyse, quantify, and construct projects – leading to cost efficiencies in our projects and substantial return on investment to our clients.
As a standard, SPH produce all their projects in Autodesk Revit and can deliver BIM projects. We understand the opportunity of collaborative systems for better project delivery particularly the minimisation of onsite variations during construction.
We Can Take the Lead
Our team is experienced in delivering aged care facilities produced and documented in Revit as well as acting as the lead BIM manager for projects, implementing BIM protocols, standards and setting up BIM management plans for the entire design team to enable full coordination.
Our team is well equipped to take the role of lead BIM Manager, where we implement protocols to suit the project and advise the design team. To fulfil this role to its full extent, an additional fee on top of our architectural fee provided will be required.
For a project using BIM technology, SPH recommends that the Level of Development required for this project is LOD300, which requires the engagement of consultants who can provide the same Level of Development (LOD).
SPH have experience in the development of comprehensive and coordinated models on a wide range of projects. Our 3D visualisation platforms include Navisworks for clash detection and walkthrough, Revit for walkthrough, coordination and for user presentations.
We have over 7 years’ experience in the generation and management of intelligent 3D models, and our team has advanced knowledge in the administration of databases and the reporting capacity that BIM enables.
The team at SPH Architecture + Interiors are ready to help you with your next commercial project, ensuring it is delivered to the highest standard, using the newest technology. If you have a vision for a building or commercial space, contact our team today.
