Earlier this year SPH successfully completed Mercy Care’s new Ellenbrook Early Learning Centre in Ellenbrook.
Here is a little update on how Mercy Care’s staff, children and their families are enjoying their new early learning centre and its nature play space.

Ellenbrook Early Learning Centre
Children at our Ellenbrook Early Learning Centre have enjoyed settling into the brand-new child care centre. The purpose-built centre has seen numbers steadily grow since opening its door towards the end of October.
Settling numerous young children into a new centre may sound like a nightmare for many, but Danielle said it had actually been really easy going and pleasant. Danielle puts much of this down to the nature play space that the whole centre opens up to. Nature play areas provide opportunities for unstructured play in the outdoors in a natural type on environment. Ellenbrook ELC’s play space has logs to balance on, rocks to climb on and paths to ride bikes on.
“The children are happy when they are being dropped off,” Danielle said.
“Their parents head off and they head outside and it’s such a calming and natural environment that it’s like a calm comes over them.”
She’s loved watching the babies and older children interacting in the outdoor environment.
“It’s already feeling like a close-knit family and the children are settling in really well.
“It’s a good place to come to work every day and I think the children feel the same way about coming here.”
