NMHS is establishing suitable accommodation to facilitate the delivery of specialist community-based forensic mental health services for children and adolescents up to the age of 18. The facility will be operated by a team of multidisciplinary health professionals and support workers implementing high level care and services. The facility must be a safe, age-appropriate respectful, and culturally responsive as well as provide a considered, sensory appropriate space for consumers, family, staff, and other visitors. Consideration will begiven to security and safety of staff, consumers, and other visitors to the facility. Once the facility has been established CAFS will provide state-wide specialist forensic mental health consultation-liaison, referral, support and case coordination for children and adolescents aged up to 18 years with forensic mental health needs. The premises is currently an office tenancy, with adjoining tenancies to the east and west sides.
