SPH were engaged by Western Power and later novated to Wauters to design the 3Ha Albany Fleet Maintenance and Logistics Depot. The site was a vacant lot adjacent an existing depot within an existing industrial developed precinct.
SPH were responsible for all project phases from master planning through to construction phase delivery. The project required coordination of numerous stakeholder groups and extensive site Masterplanning to ensure that the complex logistics and safety requirements could be met within the constraints of the 3ha site. Importantly the site had significant latent conditions including clay based soils, existing high pressure gas main, limited electrical and sewer infrastructure, steep topography and adjacent functions that constrained the design. SPH successfully delivered a staged design response that allowed the client program to be met while upgrading infrastructure and transitioning the existing client user groups into the new facility.
