An environmentally and nature inspired sympathetic collection of low rise buildings arranged amongst a meandering green space that connects the river side public open space with Fyre Park. We will connect the surrounding community and open playing fields to the densely wooded river frontage.

Architecturally we recognise that the form and material quality of these buildings need to reflect a blend between the semi-rural character that’s traditionally common in Kelmscott and the modern community that it’s developing into. We believe the best way to do this is by placing buildings that sit within the environment, rather than 100% built form. Natural materials such as wood and stone will soften the buildings’ edges, while parkland and green spaces run between buildings. To do this we propose uses such as Aged Care and Retirement apartments that focus density into smaller nodes, allowing widened communal green space between. Each building would have common areas overlooking the green space, whilst allowing amenity to residents. Central to the village would be a focal point that provides community engagement within the site, as well as a village club room or ‘hub’.
